Guiding Philosophy
Leaders are contributing to one of the most exciting and challenging periods in the history of Alberta’s education system. The goals being set and achieved in our province have put our education system on the world stage as a centre of excellence. At the same time, effective leadership has emerged as one of the critical foundations needed to sustain and enhance system-wide improvement.
The Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools Leadership Academy is designed to support District staff in building their capacity to undertake leadership roles through participation in a series of interactive and collaborative sessions facilitated by current District leaders and reflective of the Alberta School Leadership Quality Standard. A special emphasis will be placed on Faith Leadership, as it is integral to the success of any leader in a Catholic Organization. The Marks of an Excellent Catholic Leader document will be utilized throughout the program.
Individuals successfully completing the Leadership Academy will be better positioned to apply for and undertake leadership positions.
